The practical version: where your data is, how to get a copy, how to erase everything.

Contents

In three sentences

  • Everything Vukassa knows about you is visible in the app: there is no hidden file.
  • A copy of your data is available on request, by email, within one month.
  • Deleting your account is done from the app, in a few steps, without going through us.

The legal detail — purposes, legal bases, processors — is in the privacy policy. This page describes the steps.

Viewing your data

Your budgets, envelopes, goals and net worth are shown in the app, exactly as you entered them. Your account information — display name, email address, sign-in method, preferences — is in the Profile tab.

Nothing is computed elsewhere: the aggregate figures you see are derived from those same entries.

Getting a copy

There is no export button in the app yet. We would rather write it than let you look for it: the feature is planned, it is not there.

In the meantime, write to privacy@vukassa.com from your account's email address. We will send you a copy of your data in a machine-readable format within one month — the deadline the GDPR sets us.

Correcting an entry

An amount, a label, a date, a goal: everything is editable in the app, immediately. Display name and preferences are changed in the Profile tab.

Your email address and sign-in method come from your identity provider — Google, Apple or email. They are changed there, and Vukassa updates on your next sign-in.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile, then Delete account. You must confirm by typing the word requested — deliberately a conscious action, not a button you brush against.

What happens next, in order:

  • your account is closed immediately and you are signed out of all your devices;
  • the app's local database is erased from the phone;
  • your data stops being accessible on our servers and is erased from them within thirty days.

The operation is final. There is no bin, no restore, no cooling-off period: if you want to keep a record of your budgets, ask for a copy before deleting.

Note that deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription bought from a store. That is done in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play, otherwise renewal continues.

What remains, and why

Two categories survive deletion, because the law requires it:

  • records relating to a paid subscription, kept for ten years under accounting obligations;
  • audit logs of billing and deletion events, kept for seven years so that we can account for what was done.

These are reduced to the minimum necessary and serve no other purpose. They do not allow your budgets to be reconstructed.

Controlling messages

Notifications and emails are set by category in the app's Profile tab: budget alerts, monthly recap, goals reached, payment reminders. Each channel — in-app, email, push — can be turned off separately.

Messages strictly related to your account or your subscription still go out: they are not promotional, and you need them.

The vukassa.com website

The site sets no cookie until you have accepted, and stays fully usable if you decline. Three preferences — theme, suggested language, answer to the banner — are kept in your browser and never sent to our servers.

The inventory and the way to change your mind are on the cookie policy page.
